Saturday July 7th Spirit of the Narrows

Nozhem Theatre, Gzowski College, East Bank

SC-CC Presentation by Ann Rothfels

Welcome from Métis Story Keeper, Marie-Louise Perron

Created and written by Anne Lederman and performed by Anne Lederman and Capucine Onn, this play is a story of one woman's journey into the world of Aboriginal fiddling in northern Manitoba. The music is like no other, embodying Indigenous, French, English, American and Eastern European traditions, all played on a small box with four strings. Sprit of the Narrows is alive with humour, insight and respect and is a tribute to the people and the music Anne came to know. In this time, when we are all hoping to find a new ground for the meeting between Indigenous and ‘settler’ cultures, it is a story for all.

Organized by

Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada is devoted to connecting people, reflecting culture, and inspiring learning and creativity through the art of storytelling.
